  1. To play songs of the laptop and mix using a deck how does that work, how you get ya songs on the laptop what apps etc and once you plug it all into decks sorry I’m a complete novice

    1. Hi Alex, It works simular when you are playing, but you will need a software program like Rekordbox or Rerato on your computer and a controller to actually DJ. To get songs on to your laptop, go to sites like beatport.com Itunes.com and tracksource.com to download tracks, import them into your Rekordbox or Serato software and you are good to go.

  2. I’m mixing minimal music. Sometimes changes rarely happen, or sometimes after 64 bars (hard to count) so it’s hard to apply this type of counting to it. But I agree knowing your music is super important. 2 songs clashing with 2 very different melodies for example almost never sounds good. A tip is to use your DJ software Hotcues to map out when certain elements change so you don’t have to rely on your memory to know. It’s saved me many times from overlapping vocals with each other for example!

    1. Hi Russell, thanks for commenting. You are totally right about the Hotcue-markers: we spend many lessons learning people to mark the changes in the Intro’s, which is one of the most essential parts of making the most beautiful transition. Keep on going like that!

  3. Video was excellent my friend! The Depth of info you went into revealed so much knowledge 👌🏼 thank you 🙏🏻

  4. This is soooo much fun to watch. It’s like watching an alien describe humans. No intuition or emotion or feeling. Analysing and counting. Hilarious.

  5. Thanks for sharing this is life changing informetion. I just bought a Pioneer XDJ X-Z in a age at 42. Who the fuck start Djing at 42 ? 🙂

    1. @The Average Guy Of course! It is a great hobby and a great way to enter a flow state! What kind of music are you mixing?
